Conversion rules

Each nonblank JSONL line must contain one complete JSON value. Blank lines are skipped; errors report the original line number. Objects, arrays and primitive values are accepted.

The reverse direction requires a top-level JSON array and writes one element per line. Only whitespace outside strings is compacted; numbers are not reserialized, preserving large integers, decimals and exponent notation.
